“Romance at Elsom”

Even though the wine glasses are not in hand, we enjoyed the wine tasting with our good friends Bob and Robin at the Bensen Winery located in the hills of Lake Chelan  The view from the deck is pretty special, with grape fields, lake and mountains views in the background. The wine being served was pretty special as well... Off to our next tasting room

Our friends Kathy and Mike joined Karen and I for some tasting at the Vin Du Lac winery, Chelan.
This place has happy hour entertainment (usually small 1-3 person groups) but always enjoyable. The wines have good ratings from “Wine Spectator” and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. When in town, it’s totally worth stopping by.

During a recent exhibit of my work at Mercer Estates,
Prosser, WA. I placed the paintings on easels at various locations in and around the winery. The idea, to integrate within the environment, adding a visual connection to the wine making process.

Everyone had a great time as they participated in creating a one-of-kind painting. Providing the start to a painting, guests unleashed their creative juices by producing a masterpiece that was eventually auctioned off to all who participated. 100% of the proceeds went to the DOXA educational foundation. The final piece looked nothing like the sketch provided and that was exciting to see.

This was a great opportunity to display my work. The large white walls allowed my paintings to breath along with giving color to the room. The owners (James B & Renee Notkin) were such a delight to work with. The coffee house is part of larger (very cool) warehouse space that transforms into Union Presbyterian church on Sundays. The Holly Spirt was really working for me here with 2 sold paintings.

Praise God.
